Schmidt & Bender PMII MTC Turrets

I'm going to be buying a new Schmidt & Bender PMII/LP 5-25x56 in mrad with the P4L Fine reticle.

Last decision is the turrets and whether or not to go with the More Tactile Clicks (MTC) turrets. I have never played with the MTC turrets and I'd like to hear from guys who have, is this something more useful for night vision co-witness use or is it more useful in all conditions?

MTC turrets are kind of annoying. If it were me, I would not do it.

Are you in active combat and you need to engage multiple targets at various distances without coming off your rifle? Then get the MTC turrets so you can feel each whole mil without looking. The point of MTC is so you can more easily count big jumps in elevation adjustment in your head, without looking at the turret. Do you have that need? If so, get MTC. If not, don't.

I have the same model you describe, but it is without the MTC turrets. They can be nice, but Schmidt knobs are 14mil and they are still nice and mechanically crisp so I don't think it is necessary. On the really big knobs like 18 or 20 mil, the clicks become really small and harder to feel. In that case, I'd go with the MTC turrets for sure.

I personally hate the MTC knobs. If you truly think you'll be in situations where you'll have to dial the turrets without visual confirmation, then obviously it's a good choice, otherwise, I'd stick to the DT turrets.

Thanks Guys, all good points, I'll save the expense and go with the DT turrets, I don't believe I'll see the need for the MTC's.

I personally really like the MTC turrets. I have an S&B with the locking MTC turrets and I've always enjoyed the clunks. Also enjoyed them on my Premiers.

Then again, I also don't mind not having them. I'm easy like that.
