I want some clear glass up to 600 yards!

      Thanks in advance.
Hey, I just picked up a piece of junk Barska

What's so bad about it? Got it for $20 so I can bring out and spot at 50-100 yards.

At least I won't cry if it gets dropped or scratched.

Haha I got mine to spot for those distances and it's ridiculously blurry, and fov is almost non-existent! But I do see your point--no offense meant!

That's the thing though, with the Vortex, you wouldn't cry if it got dropped, scratched, exploded, got run over.

Vortex would take care of you at NO COST.

Nothing can touch a Razor at the price, especially with that level of service.

A little below your budget, but don't overlook a Konus. "Poor Mans" Kowa. Quite nice for the bux. Have a few $$ left over for a decent scope stand. For strictly shooting, ergonomics are important. A buddy of mine paid DEARLY for a Swarovski spotting scope, and it is quite clear, but it is made for looking at birds. Really sucks on the rifle range. Crappy eye relief, somewhat fish eyed, poor field of view, and you feel like you are playing Twister when you need to adjust it from any position but the bench. The angled eyepiece models will serve you better for most anything you will use it for, while the straight eyepiece ones are not as handy for shooting.

Good tip on the eye piece, I'll be sure to watch out for that!

If you want to get fancy, try to find a used Bogen or Manfroto geared head. #410 or 3275. The gearing makes it real nice for making small adjustments.

The base is a block of Delrin and the scope and gear head are offset so that their combined center of mass is located over the middle of the block. And there are four adjustable swivel feet with rubber pads, one at each corner.

Manfrotto tripod and Bogen 3130(??) video pan head with a quick release mount work slick on the silhouette range. Can simply pan under slight friction for quick target acquisition (Operator talk!) and it stays put.

What is that red and white pin or emblem on the workbench behind your scope?
