Still need irons, that's a downside.
Since it's not hard mounted there is no need for quick detach.
Some claim good to 1000 yards, but mine is not that good.
Performance can diminish with age.

Completely subjective and dependent on your goals and budget. Kahles, Swarovski, Trijicon, US Optics, Schmidt and Bender, Elcan, Aimpoint, Vortex, Leupold, etc.

Red Dot Wise I prefer the Aimpoints, A great low cost option is the Vortex Strike Eagle which can function like a red dot up close yet you can crank it up to 6 power when you want to reach out. For premium low powered variables there's a ton of options out there with Pros and Cons to each and we'd be happy to discuss them if you called us at 916-670-1103 since it can be a lengthy discussion

I have a 30mm mount sitting around and my only scoped rifle is my bolt gun. Figure why not
