The Horus is a nice reticle but a little to busy for me and the scopes are pricey and the Horus scope is not very well made. If you get the Horus in a USO, S&B or other scopes it is not a bad way to go.

I would recommend the Zeiss if you are looking for a holdover reticle.

+1. The Rapid-Z is based on the Pride-Fowler Industries Rapid reticle introduced a few years ago, and is a fine choice for a battle rifle.

The Horus is a busy reticle, but for a reason. It REALLY shines when you need to rapidly engage targets of varying distances (say between 100m-600m). Instead of adjusting the dope on your optic, you can use the reticle for very accurately holdover windage and elevation.

+1 on that, too. For those who train with it and learn to use it, the Horus is VERY effective. As a dealer, I'm basing the recommendation of customer feedback and what i feel would be most satisfactory based on the info given.

The Horus is not a market leader, so to speak.

Well ive been looking at the scopes on their websites and the Horus Vision has some good demos and videos. The Zeiss, well doesn't. I was looking at the Hawk from Horus and Conquest Rapid Z 1000 from Zeiss. Can anyone shed some light in comparisons? Maybe some of you dealers, the price? One thing I dont really like about the Z1000 is the numbers get smaller. I wish they were the same size. Thanks

Horus reticles are great but they're scopes aren't the best in the world (good but not fantastic). However, for most folks I think they're a good value, especially considering getting the reticle added to a different scope is usually a $300-400 add-on. The biggest problem with Horus scopes is availability, so call them first.
