    Nikon P-223

Does anyone have anything to say about this scope...

    I bought the P-223 scope 3 to 9 power from Cabela's. ($134.00 delivered).
I will be mounting it on a Weatherby .223 Bolt Action. I am thinking that I have a lot of rifle and a lower end scope but I cannot see any difference in the Nikon and the Leopold VX1.
Does anyone have any experience with this scope ?

    Thanks For Any Info.

I will say that I have used all scopes leading from Vortex-> Nikon-> Leupold-> Now Zeiss. For the money nikons are awesome, Leupold however has a way better warranty and CS from my experience as well as vortex. Also it's hard to test but you need to go into low light situations to see the real differences. Higher quality scopes will be a lot better and absorb a lot more light than cheaper ones, hence making a dusk shot a lot more efficient. Same for bino and spot optics. Hope this helped.

If you can fork out the extra $$$ get a VX2
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

I have a couple of the fixed 3x version. I really like them. Very clear and bright with nice clicks and turrets. They seem to track well so far. Not sure how much if any of that translated to the variable zoom scopes.

ive got one on my m&p 15-22. i wouldnt be comfortable with the glass piece if mounted on an ar 15 after a years worth of regular shooting.

They are a good scope for the price. I own one, and really like it. Cant beat the price. I did the same thing, bought it from cabelas on sale. Got the mount on sale too, great setup for ~$225.

I don't like them for hunting because of the exposed turrets. For paper ok. For a less than $200.00 scope I prefer the Burris Fullfield II but your eyes may like the Nikon better. I also believe the Buckmaster II glass is as good or better than the P223 with less bells and whistles.

Scope mount looks like it's on backwards and too far to the rear?

It's too far to the rear because it's on backwards.
