scope for a socom 16

I have a socom 16 and i want a scope for it, and i want to shoot for about 700 yards. There are way to many scopes out there to go through, does anyone have any recommendations for a good scope. I want to spend about $300 to $500 dollars. can anyone please help thanks

My brother put a Leupold 4.5X14X40 duplex reticle on his and likes it. The scope was about $450

Scout mount or are you using the side mount?

Burris 2.75 Scout. It has a long eye relief perfect for the Socom. I have one on my Socom 2.

Based upon objects I saw and handled yesterday, you might wait a bit.

SHOT Show is a few weeks away, and there will be something you're interested in in the scout scope category, that I can't talk about yet. Sorry to be a tease.
