    T-1 Question

I'm looking into a red-dot for my 16" upper. I would like to put a 3x magnifier on it at one point and am wondering if anyone has done this with a T-1? Will a larue tall t-1 mount work?

Also, I have a fixed FSP and am wondering what kind of co-witness I will get with the T-1? Will the FSP be too large for the T-1 "window"?

    Thanks

I have a T-1 mounted in a Larue LT-660 mount and it is a perfect match for the Aimpoint 3x magnifier mounted in the LT-649 mount. I'm assuming FSP means front sight post- if it does, you'll get lower 1/3rd co-witness with the LT-660 and no the front sight post isn't too large for the T-1.

      Thanks a lot! Perfect.

      I found this deal:
GG&G is an established manufacturer of tactical rifle accessories. We specialize in AR-15, M16, and Remington Shotgun parts for military, police, and sporting applications.

Which basically includes a cantilevered QD mount for virtually free. I'm hoping that will size up with a 3x mount perfectly...if not then I will have to put the money down on a larue or something...

Do you know if those work?

They work fine, I've seen one, just not my cup of tea as I think lens cover on this thing is like putting breast implants on a dog. I also do not like the fact that it is somewhat on the heavy side and made the T-1 larger than the Larue does.

For another $55 you can do what everyone have done and love:

I also have a T-1 in the GGG mount and it WILL NOT work with the Larue LT-649/3x magnifier combo. The GGG mount is lower so if you put the magnifier on a rail with it it doesn't line up. The GGG mount is well made, but I prefer the Larue mounts and I don't use lens caps on any of my T-1s.
