SKS Mounts

Hello,

I'm going to buy a Type 56 Chinese SKS from Atlantic Firearms. I was wondering about good options to put on the rifle whether its optics or a rail system. I was also wondering if there is a way I can get a stock conversion for the rifle in California.

I've never found a satisfactory mount for my own SKS. I wish Midwest Industries made this product for the SKS:

Can you explain what the requirements are for a stock conversion in California? Non folding/collapsing, thumbhole?

If you're thinking about scoping your SKS, I'd go with the forward-style mounts.
I've heard the ones that go over rear receiver cover doesn't hold zero.

Look at Brownell for an SKS Tapco stock. It's <$65. If it doesn't work well for you, return it.

I like the Scout Scope mount. I've been looking around for a similar design. I tried a RDS mount on my upper handguard and it got sprayed with oil and gas particles from the piston. I could still see, but it was a mess.

there is certain dust cover ones that you can file to fit so they stay tight but its hard to know what you are ordering through the mail and i haven't seen one at a gunshow for a while
