    nagant want to be sniper?

I have a nagant sniper look a like built by robertson restorations. I dont mind if it does not look like the original. That being said what type of scope would work for me? Most people say to spend as much on the scope as the rifle but thats not possible for me now. Would a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 Riflescope work?

I don't know what mounting system you're going to use, but the 3200 10x is one of THE best scopes for the money. Very reliable (which is more important than glass), excellent repeatability, and yields plenty of internal adjustment. Its a sleeper of a scope.

I really like the 3200 10x for the price and it will do just fine on that rifle.

If we can be of help getting you a Bushnell 3200 feel free to let me know. We should have them in stock.

OP must not be aware of the difference between a Nagant and a Mosin Nagant. I too was looking for an old pistol with a scope! lol

OT... How bout just doing the scout scope mount and scope? Something that retains the rifles intended and original condition? Orrrr....pick up a PU replica at Aimsurplus for $400!

I looked at the scout mounts but I bought a m38 with the mount pictured on gunbroker for the price of the mount alone. I then bought a supposed re-arsenal 91/30 sniper and sent them both to robertsons to swap the scope mount and bend the bolt handle. Now what I have is what you see. I took it to the range about six months ago and put about 7 rounds threw it and figured out the scope was getting kicked out of alignment with every shot.
Now that RKSIMPLE brought up how high my mount is Im self conscious and might replace it and my scope.

If you could get a little lower mount and a stock pack or some other cheek rest, your setup could be quite competent out to a few hundred yards or beyond. High scopes just make it hard to get a good cheekweld on the rifle.

Maybe I should stick with the spray and pray method!

                          You can't spend 75$ on a scope???

Well, it sure wouldnt have that PU sniper look, but you cant go wrong with a nice Elite.

That said, I personally wouldnt do anything to the rifle that you cant change back. Also, I have reservations about its "sniper" accuracy... with great optics... you'll get get OK results, but will never do what you could with a nice Ruger or Remmy.

I have a simmons pistol scope EER on mine with the scout mount. Its OK. You could certainly hunt with it in CA, but would expect any real results out past 100-150 yds.

+1 on the Elites... the 3200 3x9 is regularly $169 in store here in Sac. The 3200 5-5x40 is $229. I have both.
