I've just got my vortex crossfire ii 1-4 with illuminated dot. I put the battery + side up. But red dot does not illuminate. Could the battery be dead? Or am I an idiot and missing something?

Not the battery. Just put a new 2032 battery in, no luck. Will try and contact optics planet or vortex.
