Or you could just throw a $50 bill into a bonfire. I've already been there, done that with the bottom of the barrel chinese spotting scopes. They're aren't worth squat.

Since your Nikon is already a decent scope, the cheapest method is to buy some of those shoot-n-see targets. The color change on the holes really does make a difference, even at low magnification.
