    Which reflex-type sight?

    Hi All,

I'm considering a reflex or red dot type sight for both my target pistol and my Mp 15-22. Both are 22lr, so I can't see spending more than $200 for either. Considering the Burris Fastfire III and the Bushnell TRS-25 as well as the Primary defense versions of both. Any thoughts on which would be better for the pistol and rifle?

    Cheers,

Don't think you can go far wrong with the bushnell. I would also consider the primary arms micro dot. This is for the 15-22. I really have no experience with scopes on pistols, so I can't say anything to that question. Good luck!

Either one of those would be fine on a pistol, although I would lean toward the Burris Fastfire. For the AR, also look at the Vortex Strikefire II.

I've used a Fastfire II on a Ruger MkIII and it worked well.

I put one of these http://www.amazon.com/Sightmark-Ultr...ark+ultra+shot on my 15-22 and I've been very pleasantly surprised with it.

I impulse bought it on sale at Turner's for $70 figuring the 15-22 is WAAAY down on the list of weapons I'll be trusting my life with, so no big deal if it craps out on me.

It's got 4 different reticles to choose from, (one of which is copied after the EoTech dot & circle) it's daylight visible even in bright sun, and has held Zero perfectly so far.

I like it enough that I bought the open reflex version of it to put on my Buck Mark pistol. I haven't mounted that one yet so can't comment on it.

I have tried several reflex sights, personally I prefer them to the tube style red dots.
I have EOTech, Fastfire II & III, Primary Arms and the Sightmark UltraShot.

The EOTech rules the roost, simply put it is the best and the one that is on the AR I built for competition.

The FastFire II is on my Mini-14 in a Burris mount that makes the thing practically disappear on the rifle, the FastFire III is on the AR I keep close to hand for home defense.

The Primary Arms reflex sights are on my M&P 15-22, Ruger 22/45 and 10/22's. I will probably be ordering another one to put on my left handed AR replacing the Vortex Sparc. The Sparc is nice but like most tube style red dots to me it adds too much bulk and visual clutter compared to a micro reflex sight.

The Sightmark is not bad but right now it sits on top of one of my safes because the others seem to do the job as well if not better and do it with less bulk and weight.

For the 15-22 go with the PA micro reflex sight, it's more than enough for a .22 and a good deal.
