Need help on choosing a scope

I recently purchased a new Savage 10fp in .223 and am looking for a scope to match up with it. I have never really done much hunting so this gun will mostly be used for range shooting, although I would not completely count hunting out in the future. My budget is between $150-$200 excluding mounts and rings. I've had experience with Weaver optics in the past and am considering a Weaver, however I also wanted to see what you guys recommended. Thanks in advance!

    What kind of hunting?

If you up your budget a bit, the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 mildot is a fantastic optic. Love mine. Reliable and good mag range for hunting and target work.

I would recommend the Bushnell 10x40 Elite Riflescope, Mil Dot Ret., Matte Price: $189.00

The Buckmaster goes for about 280 shipped.

The Bushnell 3200 that Mike recommended is a stellar optic in the price range given. If not the Nikon, get the Bushnell mentioned.

Another option is the Vortex diamondback series, in either 2-7, 3-9, or 4-12. A fantastic scope for the money, Buckmaster quality for $100 less. With either plex or BDC reticle.
