    recommendations for red dot magnifier

My friends and family just bought me an EOTech exps2 for my birthday (i know, right??? ). and since I have quite bad eyes, I'm looking to pair it up with a magnifier for long range shooting. I'm hoping to get one that's more than 3x magnification. Any recommendations?

I know primary arms had a 6x magnifier. Is it any good? Thanks!

Save your money and get a scope instead. Red dots are perfect for ~100 yards and very useable out to 200, but they aren't meant to be precise target optics.

I've tried a cheap magnifier before and it was pretty bad; small objective, short eye relief, fishbowl effect, low magnification, magnified dot, poor clarity, and added weight that didn't provide much benefit.

To summarize, adding a magnifier detracted from the positives of a red dot, and didn't add the benefits of a scope.

If money is no concern, I would get the Eotech G33 magnifier. The clarity is amazing (on par with my ACOG) and I like that it has a diopter.

With that said, having an Eotech optic + magnifier is a heavy setup.

I shot an aimpoint and aimpoint magnifier... I was disappointed..... it is a lot less satisfying than shooting a simply 3X or 4X fixed power scope...

The light between the two devices has limits... the light transmission is also negatively impacted....

I would suggest asking other shooters to try their set ups before you spend $$$ on the magnifier route....

My eyes also prefer Aimpoint or ACOG to the laser and laser flicker of the EOTECH....

Hmmm. I already have a scope for my AR, but I'd like to use my eotech for everything because it's pretty great and also because I got it as a present. Im also hoping to not have to swap optics for long range and close range. Does anyone have experience with the primary arms 6x one?
