Reticle Change vs Buy New Vortex Viper PST

I've been toying with the idea of either changing the reticle on my Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50 LR/T with M1 turrets to an MOA type reticle (currently mil-dot) or just selling the Leupold and getting a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP. I'm not sure how much the Leupold Custom Shop charges for reticle changes but I've read on various forums that it's around $170. Do any of you guys have any first-hand experience with this? Also, if I were to go the reticle change route, which MOA reticle would you go with?

The scope will be sitting on top of a Remington 700P chambered in .308 Win.

    What do you guys think?

I'm curious to see what primaryarms has to say about this.

IMHO If you know any shops that have generous return policies on optics or a trial program, I'd definitely give them a try.

I personally haven't used the FFP, but have tried out the cheaper crossfire ii 6-24x50 AO with the dead-hold bdc reticle mounted on a 5.56 AR and had good results.

I wish I could chime in on .308 optics, but sadly don't have much experience with Rem 700's.

        Cheers.

I actually have the Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP on my SPR and I love it. That's why I'm drawn to the Vortex for my Remmy.

Reticle Change vs Buy New Vortex Viper PST

This is at a much cheaper price point and the fan boyz will come out but performance wise the ACSS HUD DMR .308 reticle truly sets it apart from anything else.
Watch the test videos, read what MAC, AKOU, Mrgunsngear and others are saying it about including the customer reviews posted.

Quality rifle scopes including LPVO 1-6x, 1-8x variable power, and long-range optics. Primary Arms ACSS reticles, Vortex, Leupold, and more brands.

Dimitri, am I missing something in your link? The 4-14 ACSS seems to be a milliradian scope. Is there an MOA/MOA version? It seemed fairly clear in the OP that he is looking for an MOA/MOA scope. I was under the impression that the 4-14 ACSS was a milliradian scope.

OP, I think your instinct is correct. You have less options with MOA/MOA than mil/mill, but if you want MOA, then I'd recommend looking at Vortex or Nightforce as they have nice MOA/MOA offerings.
