    Nikon P-223 3 x 32 BDC Mounting

Who has a Nikon P-223 3x32 (Pugsley) and does
a one piece mount exist for it for mounting forward
    on a picatinny rail?
I'm going to give it a go on one of my 300BLK's.

    Thanks

May seem like a silly question but is the scope going on a bolt action or an AR?

It's going on a single shot rifle
      like this. -g

I don't know of anything other than a riser which of course would place the scope too high.

          scope mount

I have seen one 1 piece scope mount that fits Nikon's P-223 3X Carbine scope.
For your application the scope mount (cant seem to find which one it was) would be much to high. I think a nice 2 piece Warne Med. or Low would serve your needs very well. Make sure you check out Spot On to dial in your rifle, scope and ammo.

American Defense makes a low height scope rail that will move it forward.

Otherwise, you can always get a cheek riser for your buttstock and use any of a myriad other AR height forward offset mounts.
ADM may be kind of an expensive one for a $100 scope though.

G-man, I don't think it would be a good idea to use a BDC reticle for 223 on 300 BLK. The trajectory is quite a bit different.

Especially if you are going sub-sonic.

                    Spot On

Horr., That is one of the great features about Nikon's BDC reticle scopes, they allow you to use Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program to enter your shooting information. Just enter your cal., ammo and scope hit FIRE and you are set.
I use some rimfire scopes on a couple of my Blackouts with great accuracy.
Here's a look at what you can expect to see. Best of all, it's FREE.

JMP, After I get done using up all this Hvy factory 149gr\220gr stuff up, I'll reload and stay in the 110gr - 125gr range where this caliber should shine.
Now if I could only find some AA1680, IMR4227, or W296.
Uber and Bruce helped be make empty brass yesterday. I think the scope should be fine after I play around find the load.
If not I can always replace it and go with a straight 4x or 2x7x32.
                      Looking for small and compact.

                        scope

I also like the 2-7x32. Little more magnification and the expanded field of view with the 32 mm obj. certainly comes in handy in so many ways.

The P-223 3X carbine scope I have on one BO is also used with my ATN night optic which is a great pairing.

G-Man, if you know that's what you want, go for it. Why not just use some of the mounts that Nikon makes for the scope? If not, the nice thing about an AR is that you have a lot of rail space, so specifically "AR style" forward mounts aren't always need because you often have the ability to simply move the mount forward and bit. Is there anything that is preventing you from just using a regular AR mount like a PEPR? It looks like Nikon makes mounts for your purposes. Otherwise, check out the SWFA one piece mounts as they make a variety of budget mounts that will be fine for your stated purposes. It's easiest to just call up SWFA and a rep should be able to point you to something that will work, just make sure it's in stock before getting it. I can get a mount to fit just about anything for my specifications, it just isn't cheap. So, first try the Nikon mounts made for this optic, if there is a reason you aren't going for those, give SWFA a call and they should get you into what you need for a reasonable price.

G-Man, as a side note, have you tried RL-7 for 300 BLK? That might work well. The magnum pistol powders are quite difficult to find. I just picked up a 5# of RL-7 to try for my 460. I haven't yet tried it out, but I'd think it would work well for 300 BLK.

The RL-7 is available at my local club, but have not tried it. I was hoping to trade a pound of Lil Gun for some AA1680 from a SoCal CGmember, but he never made it to the bay area.
I don't like playing with the LilGun, not a whole lot of variance between min/max charge weight. I can try and slum it with 2400, I got that coming out my Azz. -g
