Scope & Scope Mount Advice

For my Saiga 7.62, I've found two possible mounts that will work aside from the scope with the attached mount that are overpriced and overkill for a gun like this.

The first mount is this:


And the second mount is this:


Obviously both are similar and both should work, however are there any differences? Can anything attach to either and what should be attached? Yes, I have looked up scopes and there are so many numbers, brands, and prices and several different ways to attach them. I just don't know where to start and a good push in the right direction will get me going properly.

Advice and suggestions would be great.

Scroll down to learn more about the mounts. I would avoid the tacticool Leapers mount you show in the top photo.

Your optics are limited only by your imagination, but 7.62X39 IS A 300-400 yard weapon so I would opt for speed over precision.

I agree, and the gun itself is an AK style gun so it is not the most accurate as it is at distances, a high magnified scope just wont work. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, they're awesome weapons. Although I am having trouble finding websites with affordable scopes. Can you suggest any sites?
