EOTech guys - help me out!

I went to a chain gun store, and checked out a few optics. The guy at the counter seemed knowledgeable, and talked with me at length. Eventually, we got around to the EOTech HHS ll combo (EXPS2-2). The guy mounted one on an AR, but stated that the one he was showing me had a quick disconnect, and the one that comes with the combo has a fixed mount. When I looked through the optic, I was impressed, and also noted that it had two 1MOA dots. I told him that I wanted to buy it, and he went to the back to get a new one.
Now, the problem. The one that came in the box is slightly different than the one pictured on the outside of the box. The picture shows side on/off controls, and the one I have has rear on/off controls. In addition, the one I have has only one red 1MOA dot, not two. When I did a search on the internet, the only information shows the on/off on the side, with two MOA dots.
Did someone switch models on me? Should I be concerned? or are there variations of the same model?
I'm sure I can return it if it was switched (at least I hope so) Big Thanks.

You probably have the xps 2-0. They're cheaper than the exps 2-2 model because they don't have the riser.

Oh, good call. Does the xps 2 have one dot or two? The receipt indicates that the package contains the EXPS2-2

The -2 model has 2 dots. The -0 model has 1 dot.
If you paid for the exps and got the xps, there is a price difference.

I would check to make sure the serial numbers match up to the ones on the black plastic box. There should be a label with serial numbers on the side of the box and on the bottom of the Eotech itself. I'm almost positive they won't match up since I've never heard of them selling the HHS combo without a quick disconnect or multiple dots for BDC. For example the HHS1 has the EXPS3-4 with quick disconnect and 4 dots. The HHS2 has the EXPS2-2 with quick disconnect and 2 dots. These are the newer models though, I believe a long time ago they had a different model but it was called something else not HHS. The EXPS2-2 that you paid for is definitely a better and more expensive model than you received so you should either get your money back or get what you paid for. The XPS2 is their basic model with no quick disconnect and single dot. Nothing wrong with the XPS2 but if you paid for the better one, that's what you should receive considering how much these HHS combos cost. Please update with what happens since it sounds like a shady dealer swapped the Eotech on you, taking advantage of the fact you aren't familiar with these optics. Especially since he mentioned the one in the combo doesn't have the quick disconnect mount. Hopefully they don't tell you that it's not the one they gave you and that you swapped it placing the blame on you.

XPS 2-0 = Absolute cowitness, no quick release mount/riser, single dot reticle with 65 MOA ring, power buttons on rear
XPS 2-1 = Absolute cowitness, no quick release mount/riser, singe dot reticle, power buttons on rear
XPS 2-2 = Absolute cowitness, no quick release mount/riser, 2 dot reticle with 65 MOA ring, power buttons on rear

EXPS 2-0 = Lower 1/3 cowitness, quick release mount/riser, single dot reticle with 65 MOA ring, power buttons on side
EXPS 2-1 = Lower 1/3 cowitness, quick release mount/riser, single dot reticle, power buttons on side
EXPS 2-2 = Lower 1/3 cowitness, quick release mount/riser, 2 dot reticle with 65 MOA ring, power buttons on side

The main differences between the XPS and EXPS is the quick release mount/riser and also where the power buttons are located. The difference between the 1, 2, and 3 is the type of reticle.

If you find out they did that on purpose and tried to rip you off, please tell us what store it was so I know where not to spend my money.

                  Wyseguy,

The EXPS models all have quick release levers, as previously stated. If in the future you're looking to use night vision with your sight, I would take a look at bumping to the EXPS 3 as it will have brightness settings compatible with NV. Not trying to pitch, but just a suggestion as we get a lot of customers who have to buy a whole new sight when they decide to make the jump.

I don't know if they were trying to purposely rip me off or not, but they took back the optic, and refunded me in full.

I like and have the EXPS-2. Side buttons are perfect if you are using a magnifier.

If you're ever running anything behind the eotech, side buttons are a must. If NV, use the xps3 or Exps3. If you want the quick release, get an exps series.

I opted for the EXPS3-0. Great optic for running quick 0-200 yards.
