Just ordered this for my 18" AR. Do you think the 50mm objective is overkill? Originally wanted a 40mm, but at this price I think its too good to pass up?

I don't think there will be any clearance issues or need for a riser.

Does anyone have any experience with this scope? Mainly used for outdoor paper from 100 - 200 yds
