Need to put glass and iron on a M4

Looking to put a red dot and and iron sights on my DD M4V11. I live in a Vortex Strike Fire kinda price range, if you know what I mean so I'll probably go that direction for the dot. But I want iron sights as a back up for the red dot and would like flip up type stuff so as not to have to pull anything off the rifle.

Sooooooo..... what are the smart guys putting on their rifles?

    Thanks

I currently run an Aimpoint T-1 with LT660 mount with KAC Micro 600M rear with KAC micro front.

KAC Micro 600's can still be found fairly cheap on Ebay. IMHO the KAC's are the best folding rear sight available. Pair that with a Magpul Pro (steel) flip sight in the front and you should be golden.

PA's Red Dots and Magnifiers will work.

Excellent! Great tip, along with the other great ideas.

              1. aimpoint T-1...a little more than the vortex..but worth it...in the long run
              2. troy buis, good quality.

Can the Troy be used while the Aimpoint is mounted?

Bought the KAC 200-600 micro on ebay for $60 and a troy front battle sight and they work beautifully. Just got an Aimpoint H1 a few months back and love the combo..

Iv had 2 friends that had 1st gen strike fires and both ended up failing after about a year. That said I haven't heard anything bad about the gen 2's

I am not rich by any means and it took me 4 months to save for the H1. Buy once cry once. That optic is literally bomb proof and has 5 year battery life. IMHO save your pennies and get something you can rely on, unless it just a plinker gun of course

....but a DDM4V11 isn't supposed to be a plinker gun

Will never give my money to Troy again. Google Lon Horiuchi Troy.

I like the Matech rear flip up BUIS. The KAC is awesome as well from what I hear, but I haven't used one. The front sight isn't as complicated and there are tons of good ones.

For the vortex strikefire pricepoint, I'd go with the PA MD-ADS

It's five months down the road, and I've left both mine on the medium setting. They were just as bright today as they were the day I turned them on. Original batteries. The batteries should be good for another 4 1/2 years.
