    Recommended rifle scope?

Hi, I currently use a leupold 3-9x40, and want to upgrade it for an upcoming boar hunting trip. Mounting it on Remington 700 in 308,
Any scope recommendations in the $500 ballpark?
    Looking for up to 20x

How far away do you plan on being to shoot these pigs? I'd go for something a bit lower power than 20X for a hunting scope, unless varmint hunting. The 3-9X range is actually excellent for most hunting scenarios you're likely to encounter. For potentially dangerous animals like hogs and boar I might even opt for something in a 1-4X range if hunting in dense woods or brush. Things can get close in a hurry, and 20X is "not ideal" for close range encounters.

ditto...again. If you're wanting something for longer ranges down the line you still want a low, low end magnification. Bushnell had the 2.5-16X elite for around that price. You may really want to stick to a 1-6, 2-8, etc...

for a .308 hunting rifle, you already have the best: 3-9x40.

^^^^ What he said. The Leupold 3X9X40 is perfect. The only up-grade would be a Leupold 3.5X10X40

Gotta agree with the other guys. You have the pick of the litter with a Leupold 3x9. If you absolutely have to upgrade, go to the better model Leupold, but I don't think you going to buy it with $500.00. If I was going to spend some money on hunting optics I would get a better pair of 10x Binoc's.

So I got a great deal on the Weaver Kaspa-z 1.5-6x32. I was looking for a qd mount that would clear the rear sight. Well, the UTG medium profile (15mm saddle height) wont clear the rear sight. Anyone have any suggestions?

For hunting, upgrades are often a bad idea - go with what you know and are comfortable with. Upgrades are awesome when shooting targets.

First ??? What Leupold do you have?

If you have one of there lower end scopes like a VX-1 you could up grade to a VX-R 3x9x40 and you will get better glass and a better field of view as it has a 30mm tube

                          Recommended rifle scope?

Quality rifle scopes including LPVO 1-6x, 1-8x variable power, and long-range optics. Primary Arms ACSS reticles, Vortex, Leupold, and more brands.

20x seems really high for hunting your FOV would be so small!
