TruGlo TFO problems looking for another alternative

So in October I put a set of TFO on my G17 G4. Shot well so I ordered a set for my Wife's XDm for Christmas.

In January my front sight fiber optic rod snapped out at the range. I had to send the slide in to TruGlo but of course pay shipping and processing for them to fix it.

Last night I just noticed that one of the rear sites on my XDm no longer glows. the sights were bought in December, installed in January and have seen the range once.

WTH! I thought these sights were supposed to be well made. Two sets of TFO, two different guns.

Now I probably have to send these out to TruGlo again.

Any other choices similar to the TFO?

Truglo came out with the gen2 the TFX sights. They beefed up the casings and the vials are supposed to be chemical proof. The TFO sights had issues with falling out and the vials would get dull when using certain cleaning solvents. The TFX sights are much better from recent reviews. Tell them you want TFX sights, since their first gens are worthless and keep failing. The TFO sights are going for real cheap prices these days just to get rid of them.

Both my sights failed under 3 months of ownership. The sights on the XDm had one range day.

Yea I would love them to send me TFX sights but I doubt that would happen.

Mention that you would like to give them a positive review if they make good on their product.

I did say that I was on the forums looking for a solution or alternative. That it would be nice if TruGlo stepped up and sent me something that was an update instead of fixing something that seems to have problems.

We'll see. I was just really frustrated because the wife and I went out to check a disturbance last night and that's when she noticed the night sight was no longer a night sight.

I had some TFO's on my Glock and I LOVED the sight picture. But after only a thousand rounds, the fiber optic in the front sight got loose.

I think they're decent sights for people who don't shoot much. I would never use them on a self defense gun or competition gun. I consider the quality of Truglo TFO sights on par with Truglo's optics (very poor).

If TruGlo doesn't replace these with TFX I'll just swap to a different company.

I do like the sight picture as well. I'm guessing maybe switch to Trijicon sights unless someone can suggest something else.

That combination of fiber optic and tritium is tough to beat. It's a patented combination, so there's nothing else like them available.

Here's hoping you get TFXs as a replacement.
