Aimpoint PRO on PTR 91

I just bought a PTR 91 that has a welded on rail and would like to put an Aimpoint PRO on it.

I wanted to know if anyone here has done this and if it's too high when using the included mount or if you needed a higher cheek piece to attain proper sight picture.

I already have several other rifles topped with S&B's, this is just going to be for fun.

.308 rifles deserve magnification to take advantage of the caliber. Red dots are for 5.56, imo

I believe the PRO uses the same mount as the CompM4. If that is the case you can remove part of the base and lower the optic. It will require shorter screws which you should be able to get straight from Aimpoint

Man you should atleast put a 1-4 zoom on your 308. I went with the 600 dollar leupold patrolman on my AR10. But I'm jealous you have a rail on your ptr 91 ....

Or the primary arms 5x woud look good

For reference I have a c93 with a surplus aimpoint. No problems with height


My PTR with a claw mount scope I gotta use a cheek rest. It's not in the pic but I use one
