Need help!!

Looking for $1000 budget on a 3-15 or 3-18 tactical scope for AR15. FFP and Mil. Purpose is just long distance target shots. Looking for best glass for $1000. ANy suggestions??????

I have been happy with the Weaver Tactical line. I have two (3-15x and 4-20x). The glass is every bit as good as my Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10x56mm.

Nice features with the Weaver Tacticals

Japanese glass
Mil/Mil adjustment 1/10mil turrets with resettable zero
Side focus
Illuminated (red/grn) with a variety of brightness settings.
incredibly durable in construction with a rubberized matte finish.

I also have a SWFA SS in 3-9 that is a great scope, but it doesn't have resettable zero so it kind of falls short in that one respect.

You should be able to get a Weaver Tactical scope for under 800 dollars.
The SWFA HD line should be a consideration once you are in the 1k realm

SWFA only has 3-9 in the HD. Really want 12 or 15. Really not familiar with
Weaver glass. I'm only used to the Vortex razor glass. Is there a huge drop from the razor to the weaver? Would have to think there is.

I don't have any vortex except their red dots.
That said, I hear the Razor is an excellent scope. However, both scopes glass are Japanese made.
I have two weavers, and they are excellent all around, with repeatable and consistent turrets, zero reset, and FFP and Mil/Mil. all of which are criteria for a good scope. I don't really run in the Kahles, Swarovski, S&B realm though. Neither my eyes, nor my shooting are that good where I outrun these scopes I have.

Just try them both, I am sure they are both excellent.
I do think the Weaver will be quite a bit less expensive than the Razor.
