    Scope for MVP Patrol 5.56

Love shooting my MVP Patrol, currently have a cheap scope and at 50 to 100 yards, all is well. I want to upgrade, maybe not too much, as my budget is what it is. But I'm looking for something under $250, with decent eye relief, maybe 3x or 4x. As I'm an optics novice, any input would be appreciated. I'd like decent eye relief and clear glass, right now, cheap glass gives poor picture.

What scope are you currently running on the rifle? How far are you looking to shoot with it? $250.00 is pretty restrictive if you are looking for really good glass, but there are a few rare scopes that have "decent" glass in that price range.

I have an MVP Patrol in .223, I have a Nikon 1-4x20 on it.
Nice clear glass and light weight which is what I was looking for.

Bump up to $300 and several decent options become available. I got an SWFA SS 10x fixed magnification (10x42) and it's good glass for the money. The rear focus model is $299. Other than that you're probably going to want to look at Vortex or maybe the Weaver Grand Slam Tactical scopes. There is plenty of info out there already on budget optics, just do some research. The three I mentioned are usually considered the best choices for under $400.

            Primary arms check them out
Old problems are like dry poop, if you let the dry poop sit it doesn't smell but the minute you decide to stir the poop with a stick, the smell comes back. Moral of the story, Don't bring up old problems!

I just picked up a Leupold 3-9 VXR Patrol for my .223 Savage Model 11. Really liking the balance of it. Range report coming. A little more than you want to spend, but...

For a budget scope take a look at the Nikon Pro Staff 3-9x40 for around $180.
