Short review: Foxx IWB holster for the Shield

Been rocking mine for the last couple weeks with my 9mm Shield. For those that aren't familiar with it(I wasn't), it is a hybrid leather/kydex holster that snuggly carries the shield IWB. The leather is available in both natural and black, and comes complete with metal belt clips fore and aft of the gun. Kydex clips are available as an extra option, I think.

So far, I'm VERY, very impressed with the build quality for the money.

Shipping was very prompt and they were quick to accomodate my needs as a south-paw.

I am new to the idea of a holster that has as much leather against my skin as this one does, but honestly I'm already sold on the idea. With a gun as thin as the shield, it simply dissappears at the 7'o-clock (4'o-clock) position that I normally wear my IWB holsters.

I wore my fully-loaded shield while I was outside working on a patio project yesterday with my wife. When I was changing my clothes and removing it afterwards, she was like, "You had that one the whole time?" I smiled and nodded. She replied, "that's awesome...was it comfortable?" I told her that I almost forgot it was on.

Retention could be best described as medium, yet positive. To fully seat the gun you have to push it past a smooth "detent" in the kydex that keeps it in there pretty snuggly. If i was doing handstands or cartwheeling down a mountain-side, it would likely fall out, but going up and down stairs, laying down, dropping trow to take care of your "business", etc is no problem at all.

Quickly drawing it, so far, has been a joy to practice. I feel like I can get a fairly consistant grip on it, even with as thin as the whole package is.

Good on Foxx for a quality rig at an affordable price.

I got mine on Amazon, btw. Very easy process.

I have them for my Shield, BG380, and my G30 is in the mailbox waiting for me at home. Good quality materials, good construction. I do suggest getting the Kydex clips for them, as they won't tear up your belt as much and they're easy to put on/remove. If you order directly from Foxx's website, they offer free shipping and a slight discount on the clips when ordered with a holster. They also have different leather options and a comfort backing. All around decent holsters for a decent price!

Thanks for the suggestion. I was wondering what benefit the Kydex clips had over the metal clips.
