    EDC Backpack

I'm looking for a new EDC backpack as my 5 year old North Face is wearing out. It needs to have the following features: laptop sleeve, water bottle pouch, non-tactical looking, compartment for handgun (either purpose made or one that a holster can be clipped into), organizer for pens and other office type stuff. Top of the list is the 5.11 COVRT18, but would like other opinions. Thanks.

I'm going to pick something up from these guys. The only problem is deciding on which one.

I like my North Face Recon. I also have an LAPG 3 Day Tactical backpack, for $30 its a great pack but not as nice as my North Face.

I use the 511 rush 24. Its a tactical looking pack but it is made extremely well.

I like my Voodoo Tactical Discreet backpack. Had lockable zippers installed for "transportation"

            EDC Backpack

511 has some good stuff, black doesn't look too tactical but this one looks "normal "

Meets all your criteria, like you stated.

I'm a fan of the swiss gear back packs. Been using one for work the last 1.5 years with no issues.

                        Also from Grey Ghost:

It's a little less "elite tactical operator" looking, but it does lack a pounch for a water bottle.

If you are willing to ease on the "no tactical" look requirement then I would go with a 5.11 MOAB 10. No bottle pouch or dedicated laptop sleeve, however, if you don't want to use the hydration pocket for a bladder, you could use it as a laptop compartment. You can also remedy the bottle issue by purchasing a nalgene bottle pouch and attaching it to the integrated MOLLE.

I'm personally thinking about getting a MOAB 6 as I don't have a lot of carry around items, but definitely would like something for CCW in the summer months when its harder to wear concealable clothing. I would also have to purchase a bottle pouch.

I have the 5.11 COVRT 18 and love it. It's with me all the time and is holding up great.

The GF just bought me a Condor Compact Assault Pack, but I'm thinking its too "tactical" looking. However, it does have the features you are looking for. Affordable stuff too. Have a buddy who carried one of their packs for 15 months in Afghanistan with no issues.

Maybe something like this Outrider pack will work. Good luck!

I was lurking around for my own EDC needs and came across this that might fit your stated needs/wants:

                              Blackhawk diversion carry backback:

LA police gear has them for $97.50.
