Earplug advice needed

I'm guessing this might be the proper place, but if it's not, please feel free to move it.

So, I'm looking for a set of earplugs I can actually use and not mess with half the time. Most plugs don't like to sit properly in my ear so I've decided on the Radians kit that you DIY mold at home.

Here's my question though.... I've read that a vent hole in the plugs helps get rid of that "stuffy" feeling you get after wearing plugs for a while. Could I just drill tiny holes in the plugs after they've been molded and set? Would the noise reduction be affected by the tiny holes? Or can I somehow do something else to relieve that stuffy head feeling?

I've had the best luck with plugs like these:

Those are rubber and fit into and stay in your ears like a champ.
You can get a cheap pair of 3m ones at Home Depot in the tool section near the eye protection.
I will never use the disposable orange foam ones again.
