Need help finding a safe under 59''

I have been shopping for a safe for a long time now. Does anyone know if there are decent quality safes that are shorter than 59'' tall?

My biggest constraint is the location where I must place it - it's a long closet with a low ceiling. The ceiling is about 59'' from the floor. I say "about" because the floor or cieling is a little uneven so it's 59'' and change in some areas but 58.75'' in other areas. The safes I've been considering (Amsec) measure 59.25'', so I am about .5'' too tall.

I will probably remove the drywall on the cieling to fit this in but I'd really rather avoid doing that. If only I could find a safe that is 57-58'' tall.

Anyone know of any safes that might work for me?

Is there anyway you could remove the flooring in that area to free up your extra 1/2" ? Most safes under 59" are just going to be DOJ approved lockers, example the TF5517 by AMSEC. It all depends on how much you are looking to spend. Cause the price can vary greatly. Or a higher end TL-15 I could have a gun interior put in this safe as well.

If neither of those options work you would have to find a manufacturer that would make you a custom size.

Line the 3 walls at the end of the closet with an extra layer of drywall and a sheet of 1/4" steel, and then have a frame made and bolt it in. Then get a safe door. When you already have 3 walls and a floor & ceiling, the door & frame only is the way to go. That's what they're made for!
