Looking for small safe

Have concentrated on Amsec and Gardell. Have been told a B + fire ratind will be harder to get into. Curious about this. Probable nice to have fireproof rating, but is it reallr stronger?

Also opinions of gargall (made in Korea) and Amsec (made in China).

Going with conbination lock.

only the higher end models are made in USA, I spoke with them on the phone to verify. You have to be careful with all of these companies.

I was not aware am sec did any importing, but also not surprised.

My little safe is an amsec BF3416. Burglar/fire resistant with a solid 1/2" thick steel body and door. Its a beast of a safe for its size, but I don't have any concern keeping important documents and valuables inside, and its small enough to fit in a closet corner close by.

I'm a big fan of high quality overbuilt safes.

Yes, the BF is built here in Fontana. CSC, UL's, and alot of there smaller stuff is built overseas.
The BF is a quality US safe, UL listed for fire and Residential security. Now you want to get crazy you can go into a TL-15/30 or a TX30 x6. But for a home application, bolted down the BF will be more the substantial to keep your valuables safe from burglary and fire.

I looked at the TL but they seemed really overkill for me. If they get through the alarm, and can manage to get that little safe, all 630lbs of it, off the 1/2" concrete anchor bolts, they deserve it lol.

Its a hell of a lot better built than the similar safe at Costco that barely cracks 200 lbs.
