I plan on picking one up tomorrow. Oh, and for those that don't get the coupon book in the mail, like I don't, you should be able to ask them and they should have some laying around.

Bought mine today and thanks to this thread I knew to just move it into the garage and let it air out. Opening the door, the fumes will take your breath away.

It is actually quite nice on the inside. Probably will end up buying another.

I fondeled one the other day and was discouraged by the sloppiness of the bolt release turn handle.
Was this maybe a defect in the floor model?
How's it feel on the safe you all have bought?

Checked it out at costco, besides the ludicrously thin walls/door, the door a A LOT of play. It would be VERY easy to pry open. Invest your money in a sturdysafe unless you just want something for a safe affidavit.

I'm on the fence abouit getting it. I looked at it today and it seems to have pretty thin walls and is pretty small (7 cubic feet). I was thinking of using this as a closest safe for easy access and since my main safe is full Would love to hear more opions from folks that actually bought one.

Well, the slop in the turn handle does vary, mine has just a small amount. Don't really care about it that much as long as it locks/unlocks when it is supposed to. Good documentation and to have an electronic key plus emergency key for access, it is great features for the price. This is not a showcase safe to put into your "gun room" for presentation and security. It is what it is and good value for "it".

Buy the safe that fits your needs. This will prevent any child or ignorant adult from accessing inside the safe and will also prevent most "casual" thieves as well (ie. teenagers).

For me if someone is capable of breaking into my safe, then fine, have at it. Everything is insured, i'll just buy more stuff. It's the american way.

                i'll post a pic tonight.

razorx, I have to agree with Blackwater ops, I have experience with safes and you would be so much better off to buy a quality safe for about the same price you will pay for two of these things (I can't call them safes). I'm not trying to be mean, its just that any, repeat any thief just has to smack the dial on that thing and voila, they're in. It has no relockers (spring loaded bolts that lock the safe up when thieves try to gain entry by force). Any safe salesperson or locksmith can tell you how easy entry is. Consider this: What is the cost of just one of your guns? If you have an AR, that has to be about $1,000. How would you feel if you return home one day to find the "safe" door open and your AR gone? Please, protect yourself and invest your hard earned money wisely. By the way, I do not sell or have interest in any safe company.

I bought a nice Cannon 24 gun safe from Costco for around $650.00.
It has an S&G electronic dial, very nice interior and weighs 500 lbs.
Maybe spend a bit more and get something harder to break into......
                      Just a thought.....

I guess I am not a very good thief since I have been "smacking" that dial and it still hasn't opened! Maybe it is not the right kind of smack...

A thief stealing all of my guns honestly, doesn't mean anything to me. I'll just buy more with my insurance even if my $3000 one is stolen. If the safe door is open, I will have a lot more problems than all my guns missing

I expect that when my gun collection outgrows this safe, I will do the $2500 - 1000lb safe I was quoted, but it is good enough for me for now.

In general, I agree with you but for my situation, doesn't quite fit. yet. I am fast approaching not being able to have a quick answer for how many guns I have Just started collecting a couple of months ago

For tree-fitty, not bad especially when this is not your ultimate long-term safe.

So it's totally ok if a bunch of EBRs end up in the hands of criminals? I don't think that help law abiding gun owners much.
