What should I do about a safe?

I currently have a Stack-On 8 gun lockable cabinet that ive secured to my wall studs inside my home that i keep my firearms in, but im starting to run out of room and i am looking to purchase a larger, more secure safe for storage. But here is the problem im running into:

    1. I have no place inside my home to put a larger safe
    2. I have planty of room in the garage to put a larger safe and I can anchor it to the concrete slab for security, but is this really a good place for a safe?
    3. Should moisture be a concern if it were in the garage?

if you can put a BIG safe in your house why not 2 not so big safes? keep one in the bedroom and one in the garage. i would get something with some fire protection. maybe keep what you have for your HD guns and whatnot and then keep your nice stuff and any paperwork inside the safe with fire protection.

as far as puting your safe in the garage...get a dry rod. or if you dont have a spot that you can plug in a dry rod get one of these http://www.deansafe.com/edv-500.html plug it in inside your house and it dries out the stuff inside. then you put it in your safe for a while and when the stuff inside changes color you "recharge" it inside your house.

I don't like the idea of a safe in a garage, only because in most instances, people can see in your garage when the doors are open. If this isn't a concern for you, then it is better than not using a safe. Not sure where you live, but moisture shouldn't be a concern and as stated by ArmedCMT, a Dryrod is a must have. Flooding however may be. BTW, love my Liberty safe. Good luck,

If your garage is decent why not keep it concealed and keep the lesser value guns in it...

My safe is in the far corner of my garage. I've got a blanket draped over it and some large boxes stacked in front so it just blends in with all the other crap

look at sentry safes. They're not fire rated but lighter and smaller than the big heavy jobs. 300 bucks or so for a decent one.

as far as moisture - buy a small heater for safe, not really a heater but a rod that warms and keep moisture off

Well i did think if i were to put it in the garage i would anchor it down for sure and i also though it would be a good idea to build a wood cabinet around it to match the current storage cabinets that are in there.
I would definately still keep my small safe inside the house with my HD guns inside of it.
