    Desantis Sof-Tuck review

    Sup All,

I always wear a full sized 1911 or Glock 20 in a paddle holster strong side under a t-shirit . I realized that although I could draw pretty fast I had to undo the seat belt and lift up my shirt to get at my firearm while driving. Both in a confined space which was not optimal. I decided I needed an IWB holster so I could carry cross draw.

I' am not a fan of Kydex or Nylon so those were out. I looked at alot of nice full sized holsters but really most of em were too big and expensive. Running about $50. I settled on the Desantis Sof-Tuck because it was fairly small, leather and only $20.99 Total from JD Holsters.

Package was a basic plastic bag. Instructions were ok although fairly basic. It came with an allen wrench for adjustments. The holster itself seems fairly nice for $21 shipped. The leather is fairly thick for what it is and it's reinforced at the top. It has a single plastic clip with two allen head screws one for attachment one for adjusting. No real break-in was needed for a decent fit.

I have not been able to actually put it on because my pants are too tight. It seems this year of Disability has made me gain a few pounds. Fat pants are otw ... I have been using my Paddle and it's got a small footprint inside the pants. I will give a wear review when my fat pants get here. Pics of the Sof-Tuck are linked below.

imho, you are best served to get pants in a 1"-2" larger waist size than your normal measurments for IWB carry of a full sized semi auto. there are cross draw OWB holsters that are specifically made for 'in the car' (anti carjacking holster) carry, as i'm sure you know.

thanks for sharing your purchase details... and please write a review upon using your holster after receiving your pants that are en route to you.

Yup was looking at a couple of the car ones and I think that's probably the best way to go. I also think your right on the pants because I tried it on with the normal little bit tight dickies and no way it's tuckable lol. Seemed ok small of back and cross draw with the bigger pants probably. Will do the review later this week.
