In that price range, pick up something at Costco or Home Depot, etc and you'll be happy.

I recommend saving up more than $300-400 to get something bigger then you think you'll need.Comment

In that price range, you should take a look at the Sentry 10 gun safe. Walmart has them with electronic lock for <$350.Originally posted by MezcalfudBecause a Glock looks great in the case and then when you take it home it feels like you're holding a Costco pack of Kielbasa.Comment

In a year, you are gonna be angry that you bought a safe that is too small. IMO, it's worth it to save a few more bucks and get a better safe. Save a few bucks and get the one on sale at COSTCO. It's sold out right now, but will probably come back in stock soon. $549 delivered.Comment

I have a Steelwater gun safe with an s&g e-lock, and has a 1 hour fire rating at 1875 degrees. Get a minimum of 1 hour fire rating. Check out gunsafes.com. They have a huge selection so you can find exactly what you want and need.sigpic

Remember, when you're looking for a safe, you just don't buy one, you invest in one to protect your investments.

How serious are you about protecting your guns and valuables? I've been studying safes for months. In my own personal opinion anything under $1K is going be seriously lacking in quality and most of all safety. A Sturdy Safe, as mentioned above is a great idea, but it is pricey. If you have to go sub $1K I'd recommend the AMSEC TF 5924, AMSEC TF 5517 or the Cannon/Patriot P14. Their warranties are excellent and if you get to see one in person they're not bad, and they're a million times better than anything from Sentry, Stack-On, or those cheap Cannons at Costco and Wal*Mart. Whatever you do, do not buy anything from Sentry, Stack-On, or any safe from a hardware or a big-box store-they are not up to the task.
As for storage space, keep this in mind: your typical 'AR or rifle with an optic will take two spaces in that safe, so do the math; a 5-7 gun safe isn't, and I can guarantee you're going to end up putting in more in there than just your guns.
