Gun Lock Box and new long gun purchases

    I already saw this:

So does that mean that if I have a Homak 3660 (on the Roster of Approved Firearms Safety Devices AND NOT purchased in the last 30 days AND with an original receipt), I do not have to purchase a separate gun lock for a long gun?

I see that there is an exemption for safes, but I don't see the gun lock box used in the same way all the time.

This is the confusing part of this law. Technically a firearms safety device such as a cabinet can be marketed as "CA approved" which it is, but since its not technically a "safe", it seems that its only good to use for purchasing a firearm for 30 days, even though a cabinet is capable of holding several firearms. I am not an expert on these though, so hopefully someone else will chime in that knows more. I have searched about this before, and don't remember getting a real definitive answer.

The safe affidavit - http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/pd...rms/gsaff.pdf? - has a block for
Affidavit Stating Ownership of a DOJ-Certified Lock Box (This affidavit applies only to lock boxes listed on the Roster of Firearms Safety Devices Certified for Sale and is not valid for any other type of firearms safety device. Firearms Dealer: This affidavit is only valid when accompanied by a receipt.)
      So, yes, that means
if I have a Homak 3660 (on the Roster of Approved Firearms Safety Devices AND NOT purchased in the last 30 days AND with an original receipt), I do not have to purchase a separate gun lock for a long gun

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
