    questions about polymer retention holsters...

I'm interested in a polymer retention holster for my new Glock 17, but I have a question. I've heard that these type holsters can damage the finish on the slide over time? anyone been using this style holster for a while that can shed some light on this?

Stop worrying about a tool getting scratched from use.

thanks for the comment, but it doesn't really answer my question... I'm looking for insight into polymer pistol holsters and their effect on finish since there are other options such as leather and nylon (both of which I have experience with..) I like to keep my firearms in the best possible condition... both mechanically AND cosmetically.

yes they will wear on the finish. as will all holsters. but i also agree with MX, if your worried about the finish on your glock, dont use it. thats the only way.

The polymer holsters will wear the finish off the gun, perhaps faster than leather, but the wear spots will be more localized than with leather. All holsters will wear the finish.

Yeah, you're both right... I'm probably being a little ridiculous about this. thanks for the advice.
