Just In! Glock GTL2 Light Unboxing & Initial Impressions! Install & Comparisons too!

Thank you to those that shared the info early on about the new GTL2 Glock pistol light!

This seems like a solid option at least based on initial impressions.

They give you the Glock Armorers tool because you need it to install the light.

I'll be doing some inside & outside comparison videos hopefully tonight to compare it with other lights that I own like the X300U-A (600 lumen), TLR-6, XC-1, Streamlight TLR-7 etc.

They claim 600 Lumen, 11,000 Candela with about 70 minutes run time on a CR123 battery.

    How To Install the light!

    GTL2 vs. Surefire X300U-A (600 lumen)

It looks like a good option for a Glock 19 that is conceal carried. I was a big fan of the Inforce APLc Compact Pistol Light for that usage. Inforce since discontinued that light and replaced with the Wild 1, which now has a bright metal right on it that I am not sure I like. Had me holding off on buying it. This light from Glock might what I was looking fo.

For sure! Back when I carried my 19 for EDC, I made the sacrifice to use the Surefire XC-1. HUGE compromise from an X300U, but far easier to carry since it's so much smaller. Obviously, Streamlight has been making waves here with lights like the TLR-7, so this new Glock light isn't exactly Earth shattering, but it's always good to have options! I think the GTL2 looks good and feels well made, so I'm glad I snagged one. Glock says it's compatible with holsters that fit the TLR-7 as well.

I run the Surefire X300V Series light on my full size pistols like Glock 17s and 34s. It is massive. But of all the IR capable lights it is the best I have seen, and it has an OFF setting for when stored in a safe or range bag for battery life preservation. The Inforce APLc fit the Glock 19 perfectly. Was the exact right size. The Goldilocks solution. This new light from Glock might fit that bill.

Agreed! Now I know why they put those grooved on there lol! it fits so tight on some of my glocks that it takes a good amount of force to remove. My 17's anyway. It looks silly on a 17 though. This was built for the 19 size Glocks for sure!
