4+ Year Review: Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA for EDC Pocket Carry

I know Streamlight has been gaining steam since this light came out a few years ago, but every time I hit the range folks are asking about it and rarely have they ever checked them out.

What are you all pocket carrying? I also have a smaller Fenix, still have my old Surefire 6P, G2, E2D as well!

I’ve been running the Protac 2L for several years; maybe about a decade or more? Can’t remember, honestly. It has served me extremely well. I put my lights through some abuse too. While I don’t use this for duty, it gets treated as such.

i’ve been wanting the Streamlight Wedge just to have a flatter light but I don’t want to drop $80+ for another when this is just fine.

My daily is a Fenix UC35 v2.0. It's a tad on the long side but I wear cargos most the time so it's easy enough to carry. It's a 1000 lumens...which seems to have become my minimum requirement for a EDC light when I'm carrying my gun...which is always.

Microstream is the best damn all around pocket light I've found. Mine's been beat to hell and through the washing machine several times. I just wish they'd make it with a USB-C charging port now. Macrostream is brighter but bigger, and for a pocket light I don't need brighter.

It's made by the same company as the one that makes the light you reviewed.
