Having trouble with my Vaultek Biometric Slider Handgun Safe

I looking for the best (most reliable opening) biometric slider for my Max 9. I purchased the Vaultek slider and it's just not reliable. As per the manual I've entered numerous scans of the four fingers I want to use but time and time again I go to open it and nothing. I have to enter the code or use the key. This is for bedside use so I open it every morning. Over the last 3 weeks I'd say the biometric scanner has worked a 1/3 of the time. I now just leave the key in it, that works 100% of the time.
Anyway, if others have found a slider type biometric handgun that is safe and reliable I'd be happy to hear what brand it is. If it's a Vaultek then I may have just gotten a lemon. And BTW the battery is fully charged. I when I say it won't open I mean I try all my registered fingertips and NONE work.

Never trust a biometric safe. Best choice is a mechanical (no batteries) push button combo safe

      What he said ^^^^.

The biometric on my iPhone isn't reliable and it's a lot more expensive and been around a lot longer. Biometrics at this price point simply aren't reliable yet. Also, anything with batteries/electronics can fail...usually at the worst possible time.

A mechanical simplex lock is the way to go. Avoid all the fancy electronic stuff.

Here's a (thank God) positive update about the Vaultek SR2i. I purchased the Vaultek Nano Key 2.0 and it works flawlessly to quickly open the safe with a push of a button. While the 'key' must be mounted within 6' of the safe to open it, it can be easily removed from the mount and carried in a pocket or put somewhere you feel is safe. Bottom line, if my firearm is in the safe and I'm going to bed I'll place the Nano Key in the hidden mount. Quick access is here and I love it!!

If you get a Titan pistol vault you will not have any more issues period. Not cheap but the absolute best I have ever had. See them at titangunvault, com

If you still have the slider, just add the finger you use multiple times and in different position on the finger.
