    Quality (tac) Clothing?

I am looking for good quality outerwear clothing, I have a handgun training class coming up and it occurred to me I have no pants with pockets, other than blue jeans. So thought I would look around. Do you guys have any "tactical" clothing I guess would be the category...? If so, can you recommend some shops to check out? I have looked over a few places like 5.11 and Blackhawk are they any good? Are there better spots to look?

    Thank you.

I am a very big fan of 5.11. Good quality gear from a local California company with very good customer service.

+1 for 5.11. You won't be disappointed with their BDU cargo pants. I use them for work and love them. They come with built in neoprene knee pads which are helpful for range activity. And they are very comfortable and washable. And the knee pads are removable.

5.11 is great and the best place to get it is LAPG

at the same time, LAPG has their own brand gear for much less and it's good stuff, I wear em

I prefer Tru-Spec, a little more comfortable. Pockets are the same on both sides

+1 on 5.11 gear. They make great stuff and have lots of different options available

Thanks for all the input, ordered 5.11 stuff with one day shipping from LAPG and wow I am stoked. Got here bright and early this morning, perfect packaging of what appears to be great quality materials. Lovin' it.

              Thanks!

I also give a big thumbs up to 5.11. I used to think I had a bad back and terrible feet. Then I bought a pair of 5.11 boots and realized I've been wearing the wrong shoes all my life. Thank you 5.11.
And their cargo pants are awesome

I am a big fan of the blackhawk. I dont like the waistband on the 5 11 gear. The tunnel expander is more comfortable and versatile (iwb carry). I used to wear a lot of the tru spec 24-7 but they dont hold up as well to repeated wear and washing as the blackhawk pants do.
The 511 gear is quality i just prefer the blackhawk.

Just FYI- you can order directly from 5.11's website well.

                      Copy that. Thanks.

Was going to actually but I kept reading product reviews on their site and "slow shipping" was a running theme... I needed this stuff for a training class on Friday, so no chances

Being that you live in Concord, you could try Adamson's Police Supply. They have a couple of local locations, and I have had good experiences buying from them, with reasonable pricing. It will save you the shipping costs. They have locations in Pleasanton and Hayward.

Or Antonio's Uniforms in Richmond has good prices and a big selection of 5.11 also. I bought my 5.11 BDU's from Antonio. It was a few years ago, but I remember thinking it was pretty cheap. But i bought my first pair of 5.11 boots (which I loved), from Adamson's, for a really good price, so????
