Recently purchased a 24 gun safe and want to know what other folks use for lighting. I've been looking at tap lights...

I've been slowly picking up parts to make a LED lighting system which hides around the inside of the door frame and once all mods are complete, will put it in. You can search this forum to find a guy who makes the LED lighting for safes, they are pretty bad-assed!With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

There is a member here who sells light kits. I've been happy with my purchase.Guns, dogs and home alarms. Opponents are all of a sudden advocates once their personal space is violated.

I picked up three 20" LED strips here http://www.budgetlighting.com/store/...0and%20Modules
An old used 12v cell phone type wall transformer/charger(actually from an old DSL router) some bell wire and a magnetic contact switch for the door. http://www.homesecuritystore.com/p-1...tch-no-nc.aspx I painted the door side contact black since it's on top off the door and mounted it with double sided tape.
I obviously installed a 110v outlet in the safe also, for the dehumidifierLast edited by dls; 02-07-2012, 7:17 AM.Comment

I just use a small battery powered flouresent light screwed under one of the shelves and a couple of magnetic base LED lights. All this stuff can be found at any hardware store like OSH.
If you put more work into this you can have a really nice set-up but with what I did it's simple and works for me. Good luck.NRA & CRPA member

Thanks for all the input. I might go for the battery powered units because I already bolted down the safe and getting another power cord through would be a lot or work.Comment

I have the lite tech lights in both of my safes they are very nice and bright

2nd vote for the LiteTechAuto safe lights. Multiple color choices and either battery powered or plug in. Here's mine in blue. Nice kit! Plug and play.

That door hanger looks like it would fit my Winchester safe perfectly. Did it come with your? Or did you buy it separate.
Thanks
