    Another organization thread....Magazines

Hey guys, after searching through thread after thread of racks, organizing, etc, I still have a need for your help.

I have tons of magazines, and yes, I know, they dont NEED to be the safe, but I want them there. What I really want to do is get some sort of a door mounted rack system to slip mags into. I currently have a Cannon C35 with the pistol door kit, but I have more pistols than it can handle in weight, so I have moved to racks for the pistol.

I have been using dishracks (which work very well BTW) but they are space consuming and I want the shelves back. Any ideas? Oh, and I am Obsessive Compulsive...it has to LOOK good

How about some magnet stuck on/glued to door?

I wouldn't know where to buy magnets though.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

I just have them in ammo cans in my safe.

          Did I mention I bought 3 sets of 3 cans for 9.00 a set.

A 30 Cal can inside a .50 Cal can inside a SAW can. so 9 cans for 27.00

I've been thinking about this too... I need to organise/store my mags in a way that doesn't use up shelve space. Somewhat OCD myself too. I don't have that many mags, but I've been thinking of buying the Maxpedition Triple Mag Holders.

It looks like it has velcro backing so that I can attach it to the lining of the safe... hope that helps lead you to some sort of direction.

If I do end up getting these, I'll post pictures...

I have them all hanging on the door Hence the comment of "more pistols than it can handle in weight" and the desire to relocate them onto a shelf in the racks you see that currently have magazines on them.

              Thanks for your thoughts though.

Now your talkin! That is a lot closer to what I was thinking. Do they make a 100 pack version Thanks, that helps me get more ideas. I am thinking about breaking out the wifes sewing machine and seeing how bad I can hurt myself

                    Get heavy-duty "contractor" cellphone cases.

                    Like this:

Mine fit 2 HK USP .45F mags like a glove. They have a belt loop, suspender loop, and a metal belt clip. Plenty of options for hanging, and variable cellphone sizes for variable mag sizes.

I just tuck the flap into the suspender loop for quick mag access.

not exactly what you are looking for but...

I use a lot of IKEA stuff.
The wood rifle rack is a cut up IKEA shelving system you can buy seperate parts.

The black mag bins I have are fabric covered IKEA storage things with zippers. They slide out real easily and I can close em up if I need to for a meal to go.

The inside of my safe has the IKEA LED light that you touch to turn on (dont forget to turn it off) and also black metal cup holder things that are magnetic, they stick right to the door and hold mags, knives, pens etc..... Great little things for only a few bucks.

My Euro buddies buy all their gun stuff at IKEA and showed me the tricks.

I know there must be some magical way to store the mags neatly in little squares that hold them.
I thought of cutting out the cube holes in an ice cube tray or making square grids out of thin wood to fit my black canvas holder so all the mag bottoms face up and I can pick and choose.

that eliminates my glock hicaps and is a problem for my little p22 mags. always some sort of dilemma.
I am the type to go into IKEA or the container store and get all excited on better ways to organize my ammo, gear and guns while the wife rolls her eyes and buys practical things we actually need. Pshya, whatever

for the ones that FIT...I tend to keep all mine in the mil-style Bianchi mag carries in both the 2X and the 4X. The mags are all snug in them and the Bianchi cases are somewhat ever so lightly padded....the only problem with THOSE are they are usually at least $20 for the 2x ones and they themselves dont stack too well; make for a perfect Bug Out option, but not really a great AND ORGANIZED one

edit: ones like these are what I'm talking about

Chase down a bunch of military bandoliers that clipped ammo comes in.
                            Sew velcro to the back.
Stick it to your safe door.
You will get different quantities of mags in each pocket depending on the size of the bandolier pockets and the size of the mags.
There are different size bandoliers for different cartridges so 30-06 bandoliers are usually bigger than 5.56 bandoliers.

Bandoliers should be available very cheaply at gun shows.
