I just got a great deal on a used safe. One year old Liberty, the Franklin model for $600. The safe is in great shape only one small scratch on it. My question is should I worry about getting a dehumidifier? It's not very humid here in Sacramento so I didn't know if it's really needed.

you should sell it to me for 625$, I'll come get it! -
I installed a golden rod. The best thing is that you only have to fuss with it once. My safe came with a connection built it. Most have at least a hole to run the cord through. No rust so far..

I use these. I have 3 of them and they work great. The color of the crystals change from blue to pink. When they're pink it's time to plug the unit into the wall and it recharges in a few hours. I have one in each of my safes and have to recharge them about twice a month. My local gun store carries them for $25 each.
I researched getting something like a golden rod for my large safe but found out that they only warm the air which does keep the humidity out of it, but I didn't like the idea of something plugged in in my safe keeping things warm. These little units are more work, but they do work great.
