I once used the plastic case my Kimber came in -- has 'Kimber' molded into the cover. Another time I used the little plastic case a KelTec came in. I've also used nicer cases. As long as it's a hard case -- and plastic is okay -- and can be locked it's okay.

I try to use the smallest case I can for the handguns I'm taking and put the case inside my luggage. I check all my luggage since I have to check in the handgun(s). That way I don't have to deal with luggage on the flight.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

The only hard case I have is for a styer pistol and it does not lock so I need to buy something that will work small or big does not matter if it is small I'll stick it in my bag and check that if it's big enough I'll check it by itself any o e have any idea for a cheap but at least semi secure?

I use a Gun Vault Nano 300. The 200 would work too. Either is less than you're willing to spend.

I will post this in http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=425244
Im thinking to keep that pistol safe your going to want to lock the locked pistol case to the suit case with some sort of cable lock and retention system

Buy the generic standard $10 plastic double locking gun case found at any gun shop, gun show or sporting goods store, get TSA locks, declare it at the counter, put it inside your checked luggage. This has worked fine for me. I would never want a stand alone case to be checked solo.. no way.

                No TSA approved locks
Only use Non TSA approved locks
Would you really trust TSA having a key to your pistol?

FUD.. incorrect information. read the links.. its against regulations for anyone but you to have a key to the lock.. NO TSA, no airlines, do not pass go.. get your guns stolen and become a laughing stock..

read the TSA regulations and watch the guys video.
