    Sentry safe from costco

I saw on the costco sales flyer that they have a safe on sale for $400. It's described as a Sentry Executive Firearms Safe, and has a 20-min fire rating with an electronic lock. Does anyone have one of these and can comment on how sturdy it is? It isn't listed as a 6-gun or 8-gun safe, just the internal volume of 10.6 cubic feet.
    Thanks.

In general, inexpensive safes are all about the same in terms of quality. Because of the thin sheet metal, none will keep out a determined thief but they will all keep out the kids and neighbors, probably a smash and grab thief as well.

Any safe is better than no safe. Put it in a discreet location, bolt it down, and don't make a fuss about having the safe or guns - that should minimize the chance of getting robbed, minimize the chance of them finding it if you are robbed, and minimize the chance of them getting it (or into it) if they do find it.

I may get one to store ammo and other similar items.
