    Gun Cabinets by STACKON

I purchased a STACKON Gun Cabinet model GC-908 from Dicks Sporting goods online. It was cheaper than my local retailer (like $140 cheaper) and was shipped UPS. It is easy to bolt to the wall/floor and holds my small collection.

It is California approved, of course.

I used to have a couple of those that I got from Cabela's. Dick's has a better price. How much was shipping?

I'm pretty sure it's DOJ approved. If you look at the penal codes, it says two kinds of safes are allowed:

(1)having certain features such as locking mechanism, locking bolts, steel thickness, etc

          (2) approved by Underwriter Labs.

Stack-On gun cabinets are UL approved, so they're good to go with the DOJ

These cabinets are California DOJ approved firearms safety devices that meet the requirements of California Penal Code Section 12088 and the regulations issued thereunder.

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago, those prices are great, still cheaper with shipping than anywhere I have found. It was supposed to be dropped off today, and a work bench showed up , and allegedly my order went to Texas. I called customer service, so far everyone has been real friendly hopefully they fix this quickly.

I got one of these, they said DOJ approved, and I believe I looked it up as well.

My .02= cheap cheap cheap, mine was the bottom of the line, but still wasn't too happy about quality- and this is just from the safe being flimsy, the lock being crap etc.
The being said, for just a cheap DOJ approved safe, that you can bolt down and without worrying about smart thieves that may be able to get into similar even more expensive safes, I think you may be fine. I personally just have mine to keep nosy people out.

Talking about cheap, I am thinking of getting the Stack-On RTA.

I've been considering getting one of these to hold ammo and all the junk my wife keeps putting in the fire safe that holds my weapons. Even bolted to the floor and wall I'd be a little uneasy about storing firearms long term in one of these. But that's just me.
