i used the aimpoint in Iraq. I have to say it's pretty good. reliable and good on batteries. I think they last like some 50k hours. I may be wrong but I left mine on plenty of times or bumped it on. It never went dead on me.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

I picked other. Personally I hate them both, anything an electronic sight can do, I feel an Iron sight can also do. And try shooting an aimpoint/EOtech at 250M.

Actually I like the steel gong at 300yds with my EOTech. Buy the magnifier for the Aimpoint or the EOTech and it beats the ACOG.

Voted other. Depends on what you want it for. If you want something that holds a zero and will let you hit something at 100 yards, you can spend a lot less money and still get what you need.

Don't laugh, but a cheap BSA 30mm is fine for my range use and three gun. $30 bucks, and I can hit a 1'x1' plate at 100 yards with my SKS everytime. Fills my needs fine.

Combine an Aimpoint with a La-Rue Mount and you are good to go.

Eotechs are good untill they go down- typically due to corrosion or
              moisture on the battery terminals.

My two month old Trijicon Reflex lasted all of two trips to the range on a revolver shooting 357s before the reticle broke. I recommend buying two if you want to invest in this POS as Triji will hold your sight up to three weeks to fix it if it breaks. They got mine on the 1st and will return it to me on the 19th. Since that's a Holiday then that means it won't go out until the 20th. IMO, if it ain't an ACOG, Trijicon = crap.

Get an Aimpoint and be done with it. Or maybe that new Burris XTR or a Leupold CQT.

I have both, an Aimpoint CompM and an Eotech 512. Both do the job exceptional well. Difference I see are:

1- Aimpoint has longer battery life.
2- Aimpoint is parallax free at much close range.
3- Eotech has a slight edge for sighting with both eyes open for me.

If you cannot decide, get both.

                      Eotech...

Most of the service guys I deal with all use Eotech over Aimpoint.

I have an $8 Walmart special on my mini 14. I don't know the brand but it would fall under "other". It's a POS but it works and I really don't want to spend very much money on my mini. I have a Leopold on my AR that I like but it isn't a red dot.

                            Got both, prefer Eotech.

                            But ACOGs are the best.

Have both also... but I prefer Aimpoint.

IMHO it really comes down to personal preference.
