Just bought a new WASR-10 and planning to replace the MonsterMan Grip with a Magpul grip and a clear grip fin wrap. Is that still "legal" under current CA Compliance guidelines?

Are grip wraps on my AK47 legal in CA?

Sadly there are no guidelines. Just guesses. To my knowledge no one has oficially endorsed these things. There is no list of what we can do. Just a list of what we cannot. But as far as we know there is no difference between the monster man grip yours happened to come with and the grip eras others come with. So if you prefer those it should be fine. Or at least as fine as the current monster man grip. It is in common practice and is currently believed to be legally within compliance. -
Thanks. That's how I see it. Just wanted to be somewhat certain I wasn't doing anything blatant and have my new AK taken from me at the outdoor range (which is frequented by SWAT, LAPD and Sheriff's Deputies)."How long would the Nazis have kept it up, General, if every Jew they came after had met them with a gun in his hand?"

A grip wrap is fine, just be sure that it cannot be yanked/pulled off, and that it can not be spun aroundComment

Thanks. The clear wrap I have for my AK was custom made for the Magpul grip by a local California company I've used several times. I've got the same clear wraps on my AR's, and they all have a tight fit thanks to the three screws on the fins. Problem is I haven't taken my featureless rifles to the Range in sometime due to some health issues, and I'm worried that the "rule" for wraps may have changed."How long would the Nazis have kept it up, General, if every Jew they came after had met them with a gun in his hand?"
