    Larue or Daniel Defense?

I am building a 6.8 SPC upper and tossing between a Larue or DD HG 12". What would be the recommendations from you gun nuts?

I like them both as well...but I was you I'd probably go w/the LaRue HG since it would match your La Rue scope rings.

Can you go to the range tomorrow morning?

I have shot both and held both at the same time and both are great. I would be happy with either one. Between both companies I would go with Larue. Great customer service and the guy is as nice as can be. Loves to just shoot the sh*t, not just take orders from people.

            Another La-Rue supporter here.

One thing to remember is that all 4 sides of the rail on the La-Rue handguard is mil-spec and true. Don't know if Daniel Defense changed their design since they introduced their first railed handguard, but I remember that only 2 sides were mil-spec (forget if it was 3 and 9 o'clock sides or the top and bottom).

              Meangreen,
I heard the same info on the DDs, but was unsure if it was true. Prefer Larues anyways....

                thmpr,

yes, its true, I had a DD rail before...

I guess the one advantage to the DD rail is that it is lighter in weight if that is a concern to anyone.

i talked to daniel defense and they said all their stuff is 1913 milspec.

the DD lite rails look sick. im gonna buy one. they are expensive though.

+1 for larue. Outstanding products, the best customer service and Mark Larue is a great guy. I called once because my gunsmith lost my barrel nut while doing some work. Mark sent me a replacement for free via overnight delivery.

LaRue all the way. My customer service experience with them exceeded any other gun company I've ever dealt with. I also asked someone who is a military and SWAT vet, who has built lots of ARs, and has used both products. He said LaRue is the clear choice.
