    Amsec safe rust problem?

I am still looking to buy my gun safe and I was thinking about an Amsec safe and I emailed Dean's Safe to ask for pricing on the Amsec and they said they quit carrying them at least at the moment because they are having rust problems with some of their safes.

Mine's only 17 years old and hasn't rusted yet. I used to live in the Sac delta area also which has a little more humidity than Bakersfield.

I was at an AMSEC dealer today and he told me he hasn't heard of any rust issues. Take it for what it's worth.
My impression with AMSEC is that they sell some very high end safes but in order to compete with Sentry and like, they sell low end safes they don't really make, but import from China.

I like my Amsec. No rust and no problems with the lock after 8 years.

Every body seems to talk about Deans but as I said they aren't carrying right now.

Thanks. I might try someone more local. Unless I get an awesome deal, I am not gonna break my back trying to move it myself.

I got mine from Liberty Safes over there next to the Ontario Mills Mall. I was really happy with the entire transaction.

Liberty Safes sells Amsec safes? Next thing you know you will be able to buy a new Chevy at the Ford dealership.

My house stays pretty moist all year long. Despite this, my AMSEC safe hasn't rusted a bit in the 2 years that I've had it.

Turners has some deals but their selection is small. Special order isn't an option. El Cajon Gun has some AMSECs at a good price. Liberty also carries them but I wasn't impressed with their prices.
